As you may have seen in our Action Alert from last week, the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee, which sets the initial funding level for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), approved a $15.3 million increase for the NEA in its FY 2009 spending bill. Currently funded at $144.7 million, this increase will bring the agency’s budget to $160 million. The bill is scheduled to be considered next week in the Senate where one of your Senators serves on the important Interior Appropriations Subcommittee. As the subcommittee begins consideration of this legislation, we need you to write your Senator in support of matching the funding level set by the House.

Since your Senator sits on this key subcommittee, your voice is all the more important to put the pressure on! Please take two minutes to visit the Americans for the Arts E-Advocacy Center to send a customizable message.
