General Admission

The Arvada Center Book Fest is a one-day literary arts festival that celebrates books and reading and writing for the whole family. General admission includes:

  • Award-winning authors and poets reading and signing their books
  • All-day exhibit hall with publishers, authors, rare and used books, book-related arts, games and more
  • Pop-up bookstore with books available for purchase for all ages operated by BookBar
  • Panel discussions and staged readings
  • Children’s area with hands-on activities, storytime and live favorite characters
  • Spelling bee, trivia and read-off contests for adults and kids
  • Onsite pop-up café, coffee shop and snack bar provided by Steuben’s, La Patisserie Francaise and Hunter Bay Coffee
  • Tote bag, bookmark and sponsor give-a-ways

Please note: Author brunch, writing workshops and tickets to the keynote go on sale March 8, 2018. These events include general admission to the fair so it is not necessary to purchase it separately.

Keynote with New York Times best selling author Laura Moriarty

Hear from best selling author Laura Moriarty as she discusses her latest and first young adult novel American Heart about a Muslim-American girl and her previous novel The Chaperone, soon to be released as a feature film, about the woman who chaperoned an irreverent Louise Brooks to New York City in 1922. In addition to her talk, Ms. Moriarty will answer questions and sign copies of her books.

Laura Moriarty earned a degree in social work before returning for her M.A. in creative writing at the University of Kansas. She was the recipient of the George Bennett Fellowship for Creative Writing at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and is now a professor of creative writing at the University of Kansas. Brunch with an Author

Enjoy brunch by Steuben’s Arvada while you chat with a local author about books and the art of writing and publishing. Choose your table by type: fiction, nonfiction, mystery, poetry, young adult, playwriting or zine self-publishing.

Participating authors include Kathy Fish, Jenny Shank, Kathy Winograd, Traci L. Jones, Eric Baus, Stephen Cole Hughes, Martin McGovern and Adán De La Garza.

Author Brunch: $25, includes brunch buffet and nonalcoholic beverages, (1) mimosa and general admission to the Book Fest.

Workshops and Seminars

Participate in writing workshops and seminars geared for teens and adults from the aspiring writer to the seasoned author. Learn about the business of writing, discover skills to stop procrastinating, explore a variety of genres from mystery to playwriting or even try your hand at writing a self-published zine.

Writing Workshops and Seminars: $15 each or any two for $25, includes general admission to the Book Fest.

All Day Pass
