Chess, A Musical will be directed by Arvada Center Artistic Producer, Rod A. Lansberry, with musical direction by David Nehls and choreography by Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck.
Colorado auditions are December 1 and 2, from 9:00 a.m. â€“ 5:00 p.m., by appointment only.

Experienced performers with strong acting and singing abilities are needed. Dance and/or strong movement is required.Â See the character breakdown (below) for specifics on available roles. Actors should prepare 16 – 32 bars of music from the show or a pop musical number. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Recorded music or a cappella audition will eliminate casting consideration. A current headshot and rÃ©sumÃ© are required. Equity members must have a current equity ID card.
This is an Equity LORT B production, although non-equity actors will be considered. Individuals of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds including a wide range of physiques are needed and encouraged to audition for all roles.
Rehearsals for Chess, A Musical begin on March 6, 2012. The show opens on March 27 and runs through April 29, 2012. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday evenings with matinÃ©es on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays for a total of eight shows per week.

Florence (Mezzo/Belt) â€“ Gregorâ€™s young daughter. To play late 20â€™s early 30â€™s.Â Â In adulthood, acts as Freddieâ€™s second.
Anatoly Sergievsky (Baritone) â€“ Russia chess champion.Â To play 40â€™s Married to Svetlana, but falls in love with Florence.
Ivan Molokov (Bass) â€“ Anatolyâ€™s second. To play 40â€™s â€“ 50â€™s. Russian
Walter (Bass/Baritone) â€“ Freddieâ€™s agent, to play late 30â€™s. Crass, commercial.Â Secretly works for the C.I.A.
