Arvada Center’s Summer Exhibition Explores the Art of Paper
Arvada CO – This summer, the Arvada Center hosts three gallery exhibitions that explore the art of paper. Stan Meyer: Poetic Presence, in the Upper Gallery, features large-scale woven wall works. In the Theatre Gallery, Paper on Paper: The Art of Chine-Collé highlights the printmaking process of chine-collé. And in the Main Gallery, Paper.Works includes the work of twenty artists working in paper. The exhibitions open Thursday, June 1 with a free public reception, and run until August 2017. The exhibition is sponsored by Lutheran Medical Center.

Upper Gallery
Stan Meyer creates flat-woven pieces out of roofing paper utilizing inspiration for patterns from Celtic, Maori, and various aboriginal cultures combined with patterns found in nature or contemporary architecture. His large-scale wall works are highly unique and combine artistic aesthetic reminiscent of the abstract expressionists with the handmade technique of fine craftspeople. 
Paper on Paper: The Art of Chine-Collé

Theatre Gallery
This exhibition features the works of Mark Lunning, Ken Elliott, Jane Braley, Lynn Heitler, and Amy Metier - printmakers who utilize the technique of chine-collé in various ways. Chine-collé is a printmaking process that transfers a print onto both a support surface and thinner, more delicate papers which become a part of the printed image.

Main Gallery
Paper.Works includes the works of twenty artists who use paper as their artistic medium. From cast paper to cut paper, folded paper to handmade paper, this exhibition will include works that are innovative and intriguing.
