




The Best of Colorado’s Holiday Craft Fairs
31st Annual Holiday Craft Fair, November 26 and November 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., features more than 150 artisans and crafters showing and selling holiday items from a variety of mediums that include glass art, needlework, paintings, jewelry, toys, woodwork, floral, ceramics, clothing, specialty food, photography, and fiber. A time-honored tradition at the Arvada Center, this sale raises more than $80,000 annually to support arts education and activities. It’s a wonderful way to kick-start your holiday shopping. <
A Christmas Carol – Classic Holiday Tradition
A Christmas Carol, the musical, is a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays with family and friends. Directed by Rod A. Lansberry, the Arvada Center’s award-winning artistic producer, this Colorado premiere of the 1994 Broadway musical by Alan Menken, (known for Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, and Beauty and the Beast), is based on the original Charles Dickens classic and is filled with beautiful melodies, emotional lyrics, and a heart-touching story. Schoolhouse Rock Live! is back…
Schoolhouse Rock Live! is back, offering some of the same favorites and showing off a few new ones, too. This fun and fast-paced production for children 4 years of age and up is the story of a first-time schoolteacher and how he wins his students over with imagination and music.
Runs October 21 to December 30, 2010.

While I respect the man and his legacy, I have to admit that I don’t considered myself a “fan” of his musical style, given it leans more towards opera when compared to most modern musicals. Sunset Boulevard, Opens Arvada Center’s 2010-2011 Theater Season
The Arvada Center opens its 2010-2011 theater series with one of the first regional productions in the United States of Sunset Boulevard, in the Main Stage Theater, September 14, 2010 – October 10, 2010. This all-new production stars Ann Crumb as Norma Desmond and is directed by Rod A. Lansberry, the artistic producer at the Arvada Center, recently recognized for his outstanding production of Miss Saigon. Sunset Boulevard, which opened on Broadway in 1994, has not been seen in the Denver area since 1996 when the national touring production was launched from the Temple Buell Theatre.
