Ballet Ariel and the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra present The Birth of Rock and Roll
The MJO is excited to be collaborating with Ballet Ariel to provide the music for “The Birth of Rock And Roll”. While this style of music is not new to MJO, this setting as the live, on-stage band joined by the talented Ballet Ariel group promises to be a fun, exciting challenge for all.
'The Birth of Rock and Roll'
The 'Birth of Rock and Roll' ballet tells the amazing story of musical and cultural revolution from the 1930s to the 1950s in America. Told through the eyes of a traveling musician, and danced to swing era songs, jump and electric blues, and early rock & roll, this ballet will be fun and exciting for all. The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra's live on-stage music for the ballet will have the audience dancing in their seats.
Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra - The Sizzling Summer Sounds of MJO
The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra , the Rocky Mountain region's premier 18-pc jazz orchestra, recently celebrated their 10th anniversary as a performing group. The MJO, known for their diverse repertoire, has been a repeat Arvada Center performer during recent SummerFest performances including the original Miles Davis’ "Sketches of Spain". The MJO will open the evening with a concert of sizzling, cutting edge tunes including vocals by Suzanne Morrison and Doug Barta.
