The Front Range Youth Symphony’s Annual Teacher Appreciation Concert
Each year, the Front Range Youth Symphony dedicates its Spring Concert to teachers. Each of our FRYS students is given invitations which they can give to one of their special teachers to attend the concert as our guest. While the vast majority of teachers are music teachers, any and all teachers are welcome. Teacher’s are given a flower the evening of the concert and are recognized during the concert as well.
Our group realizes the importance of teachers to our society and they should be honored every chance we get. Our orchestra would not exist without the help of private and public school teachers who work tirelessly to give students opportunities in music. We only have a chance to rehearse with the students once a week for between and hour and two hours. There is no way we could perform the quality of music that we do without the education students are receiving from their private instructors and the public school music programs. It is because of their efforts that our students are able to join our organization.
Our three groups will be performing for their teachers, families, and regular audience members. Under the direction of Danielle Johnson, the Concert Strings will be performing works by Sparta, Wagner, and the second movement of Handel’s, Chamber Suite. The Chamber Orchestra will play themes from Smetana’s Moldau and Prokofiev’s, Classical Symphony.
The Youth Symphony will be under the baton of Travis Jurgens in his Front Range Youth Symphony debut. They will perform Holst’s St. Paul’s Suite and works by Handel, Fescobaldi, and Haydn.
We hope you can join us for a fabulous evening of music.
