Flamenco guitarist John Maldonado is a Denver native who developed an interest in music at an early age starting with basic piano and moving on to saxphone, then guitar. By age 13 he began studying guitar and at 14 was learning classical guitar repertoire with flamenco guitar master Rene Heredia. Later, he developed an appreciation for jazz and improvisation and in 1999 went back to study flamenco with Rene Heredia, where he rediscovered the music that had long been a part of his musical quest. Currently, he divides his time between solo flamenco guiter and electric guitar, performing also with an eclectic, all original group ELECTODELIC.
