Music With a View: Ravel’s Miroirs

Korevaar is considered a first class musician whose compositions have earned him high regard. He received his Doctor of Musical Arts from the Julliard School and has given recitals across the country including prestigious music venues like Yale, Harvard, the Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center as well as internationally. Korevaar has been heard as a soloist with orchestras throughout the United States from New York to California and his concert performances have been broadcast on NPR’s “Performance Today” as well as on radio stations throughout the nation. In May 2000, he received the Richard French award from the Julliard School, honoring his Doctoral Document on Ravel’s “Miroirs.” Currently, he serves as assistant professor of piano at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

The Music with a View Series offers patrons an intimate concert experience amid some of the best contemporary artwork in the nation. Held in the Center’s lower gallery, audiences will enjoy wonderful music among the creative works of “The Sights of Music” exhibition that features the visual beauty of finely crafted musical instruments ranging from strings to percussion, all in one sitting.
