The ancient and ever-renewing marriage of poetry and music will celebrate both traditional and innovative musical styles.Works by celebrated American poet Sam Hamill and newly composed works by Chuck Holdeman will be featured. This setting includes Hamill’s “Sonnet,”“The Orchid Flower” and “The Calling Across Forever,” and Holdman’s “Lyric Season.” Late 19th century French poetry will be represented in song settings of Debussy and rounded out with a sonata by Mozart.
