This prestigious juried art exhibition showcases the best contemporary ceramics artwork in Colorado. Four artists out of the fifteen total selected to participate in this year's event are on the staff of the Arvada Center Ceramics Studio. They are: Bebe Alexander (Honorable Mention), Katie Martineau-Caron (Juror's Award), Amy Chavez (First Place, The Award of Excellence in Ceramics) and Kazu Oba.

Arvada Center Receives Award for its Commitment to Programs and Facilities for People with Disabilities
The award includes a cash prize of $5,000 and commerative sculpture created by VSA arts artist Wayne Forbes entitled Anima Rising. Arvada Center Accessibility Programming will also be featured in the upcoming Guide to Best Practices in Cultural Accessrn scheduled for the spring.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities received a $35,000 grant from Denver Post Charities, a fund of the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation to support programming that positively impacts children. The grant will be used to support the Center's children's theater and Arts Day programs, which serve nearly 70,000 children each year.

LMC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'S 2000 HEALTHY COMMUNITY AWARDrThe Arvada Center received one of three 2000 Healthy Community Awards given by the LMC Community Foundation. In addition to a plaque award, the Center received a $5,000 cash award. The award, titled "Our Children, Our Future," recognizes the Arvada Center for its commitment to advancing the well-being of the community, and its outstanding efforts in promoting multidimensional health in children.
