For 50 years, the Arvada Center has brought unforgettable stories, extraordinary artists, and exceptional live theatre to our community. As we prepare for our next act, we must invest in the production equipment and technology that make those experiences possible.
The Next Act Fund invites theatre lovers to invest in what happens behind the curtain.
The Next Act Fund supports critical improvements in both the Main Stage Theatre and Black Box Theatre. These investments may happen behind the scenes, but audiences experience their impact at every performance–in the clarity of an actor’s voice, the transformation created by lighting, the craftsmanship of a costume, and the reliability of the tools our artists and production teams use every day.
Your gift will help replace aging equipment, introduce modern technology, maintain high production standards, and ensure our audio equipment complies with current FCC requirements.
The following are among our current production priorities. Project costs are approximate, and gifts of every size can be combined to help meet these needs.
Wireless microphone replacements — $30,000
Our highest-priority technology need. The replacement can be completed in two phases of approximately $15,000 each, helping ensure clear, reliable sound while updating aging equipment.
Black Box Theatre audio console — $18,000
A modern audio console will give our production team greater reliability and flexibility when creating performances and special events in the Black Box Theatre.
Additional stage monitors — $3,000
Stage monitors allow performers and musicians to hear the production clearly and remain connected throughout a performance.
Backup stage piano — $2,800
The Arvada Center currently has no backup stage piano. This investment would help prevent equipment issues from interrupting rehearsals or performances.
Replacement tools — $2,165
Our production team relies on quality tools to construct scenery, solve problems, and safely prepare each production for the stage.
Green room furniture — $5,000
Updated furniture would create a more functional and welcoming backstage environment for the actors and artists who bring each production to life.
Ergonomic sewing chairs — $1,600
Five specialized chairs would provide better support for the costume professionals who spend long hours sewing and altering garments.
Two new sewing machines — $1,698
Reliable sewing machines are essential to constructing, repairing, and maintaining the costumes seen onstage.
Industrial serger — $2,300
Replacing the Costume Shop’s industrial serger would help our team create durable, professionally finished costumes for productions throughout the season.
The Next Act Fund will also help address significant lighting needs, including replacing aging spotlights, completing our cyc-light replacement plan, and purchasing modern intelligent fixtures for both theatres.
Join us on October 8 for Murder at the Moulin Rouge, an interactive murder mystery fundraiser benefiting The Next Act Fund. Enjoy an evening of mystery, theatrical fun, and community while helping provide the equipment and technology needed to bring future Arvada Center productions to life.
