Arvada Center Blog
In our Main Stage Theater
Written and Directed by Dan Goggin
What happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay in Vegas…
The Arvada Center brings to its stage the zany nuns of Nunsense fame in their entire sequined and feathered splendor. Straight from Las Vegas, Dan Goggin, creator of Nunsense, will be directing this production and attending the first 3 days of performances, to meet the audience. The regional premiere of this brand new Nunsense adventure is a light spoof of Vegas revues delighting audiences with favorite ‘50s doo-wop, “Cirque du Blimp” and a “Holy Rollers Giant Slot Machine.” The production is rated “G” for gigantically funny and great for all ages.

As you may have seen in our Action Alert from last week, the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee, which sets the initial funding level for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), approved a $15.3 million increase for the NEA in its FY 2009 spending bill. Currently funded at $144.7 million, this increase will bring the agency’s budget to $160 million. The bill is scheduled to be considered next week in the Senate where one of your Senators serves on the important Interior Appropriations Subcommittee. As the subcommittee begins consideration of this legislation, we need you to write your Senator in support of matching the funding level set by the House.
Since your Senator sits on this key subcommittee, your voice is all the more important to put the pressure on! Please take two minutes to visit the Americans for the Arts E-Advocacy Center to send a customizable message.
