Ceramic Artist Mia Mulvey Hangs Out with Crocodiles

This video features an Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities gallery installation by Mia Mulvey. Mia is local artist and is part of the Arvada Center’s Fall 2011 Gallery exhibit “Uncommon Ground: Impact and Influence”.

She received her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and is currently an Assistant Professor at The University of Denver.

Her ceramic sculptures are influenced by the intersection between art and science, its history, advancements, and tools, continually inspire her.  She explains how this exhibit of crocodile heads are tied to real once-living animals.

Her exhibit is entitled: “crocodylus moreletii” .
