The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Colorado Creative Industries (CCI), a state agency. This grant was awarded through the CCI’s Colorado Creates Grant Program and it will help support the Arvada Center’s general operating expenses. The award is made possible through an annual appropriation from the State of Colorado and a federal grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
State grants are awarded through a competitive process. This grant signifies that the Arvada Center provides a high level of quality in its programs, community service and administrative ability. Funding from CCI provides support for all Arvada Center programming and confirms the impact the organization has had on the cultural landscape of Colorado since opening its doors in 1976. Through its vast array of offerings, the Arvada Center seeks to inspire all visitors to live and learn creatively by experiencing the performing arts, visual arts, educational programs and historical exhibits. The Arvada Center is the 10th largest cultural attraction in metro Denver and is one of the leading employers of creative people in Colorado. Through its diversity of arts programming, continuous commitment to underserved communities, creative partnerships with other cultural organizations and nationally recognized services for individuals with disabilities, the Arvada Center serves nearly 350,000 visitors of all ages annually.
“We are proud of the impact we are making here at the Arvada Center and it is always gratifying to be recognized and supported.†stated Clark Johnson, COO and interim Executive Director, “And especially so by CCI, the leader in improving Colorado’s economic landscape through support for the Arts.â€
