About the Panelists:
Representative Iman Jodeh (House District 41) is a first- generation American, born to Palestinian immigrants and refugees, and has called Colorado, specifically her home her entire life. She is also a HERstory-maker, the first Muslim, first Arab woman, and first Palestinian elected to the Colorado State Legislature. Iman is the first female Spokesperson for the Colorado Muslim Society, the largest and oldest mosque in the Rocky Mountain region, and the founder of Meet the Middle East, a non-profit that fosters relationships between the US and the Middle East through education and immersive travel. She also spent years lecturing about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict at the University of Denver Enrichment Program. She serves on the Appropriations, and Transportation Housing and Local Government committees in the House, as well as Legislative Council, a joint House and Senate committee.
Ken Fellman is the Chair of the Board of Directors at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. He is a former Arvada mayor (1999-2007), city councilmember (1993-1999) and Planning Commissioner (1987-1993). He also serves on the Board of the Arvada Economic Development Association, and as Vice-President of the Board of Trustees at Temple Emanuel in Denver. For 39 years Ken has worked with local governments nationwide in connection with communications, broadband, public safety communications, and general local government law. Ken is a Fellow at Silicon Flatirons, a research center at the University of Colorado Law School, and was an adjunct professor at CU Law for 5 years, teaching Telecommunications Law and Policy.
Dr. Reema Wahdan is Palestinian-American and the director of the Colorado Palestine Club. She serves on the Board of Denver’s Youth Celebrate Diversity, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to educating and empowering youth in order to advance inclusion and equity for all. She has helped raise awarness and seminars regardign the rise of Anti-Muslim Hate and Antisemitism. She also serves as the co-president of the Al-Bireh Society, a non-profit educational Palestinian-American organization whose proud members derive their ancestry from the original families of the city of Al-Bireh, Palestine. She’s also a faculty member at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus working in the Department of Pathology.
Dr. Zach Levey is the Israel Institute Visiting Professor in International Affairs and Jewish Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. Among the courses he teaches are The Arab-Israeli Conflict, The Cold War, and the Superpowers in the Middle East.
