The Arvada Center offers the community 10,000 square feet of beautiful exhibition space highlighting artists from Colorado and the western region. The galleries are free and open to the public. This is one of the few programs at the Arvada Center that has maintained some sense of normalcy during the pandemic. While we have not been able to have large events, limited, timed-entry tickets have been available. Our current exhibition, Wood.Works, features 24 regional artists using wood as their primary medium.
To keep our galleries free, we rely on donations from underwriters, sponsors, and SCFD. Watch the video about two of our contributors who help support our galleries, Jodie Steeves and Nancy Terry. In a normal year, ticket sales and tuition also help offset the overall costs of running the galleries, but since the pandemic started nearly a year ago, we have not been able to generate the same amount of revenue to support this creative space.
It costs us $104.27 every day to run the galleries, or roughly $13 per hour (for 8 business hours). A donation for as low as $13 will keep our galleries open an additional hour. Join Jodie and Nancy in supporting the galleries by making a donation today, providing a free space for everyone to enjoy.
